KABN is the ABN affiliate serving the Seattle-Tacoma Metro, Washington area broadcasting on UHF channel 4. It is ABN's first charter flagship television station for the West Coast. It serves as the primary side-by-side station with KAYB in the Bellingham area and KHTC in the Kent area.
Sports-specific color scheme practice
In 1996, KABN began the practice of using sports-specific color schemes for their on-screen ID logos starting with 1995 Seattle Mariners World Series championship. This was followed by the 2013-14 Seattle Seahawks NFC and Super Bowl championships. There was no color scheme from the Seattle Supersonics (now the Oklahoma City Thunder) used. Seahawks fans loved this newer logo (shown in the infobox) that in February 2016, KABN adopted this as their permanent on-screen ID logo with the diamond and "Ultra HD" elements in Seahawks green, the trapezoid in dark blue, "ABN 4" in silver to match the color scheme of the Seahawks.
