KVVV is the NBC owned-and-operated station that serves the Houston, Texas area. It broadcasts on channel 16. It is owned by the NBC Owned Television Stations subsidiary of NBCUniversal (itself a division of Comcast).
History[]
KVVV first began in 1947 as a CBS affiliate locally owned by KVVV-TV, Inc. In 1961, the station was later sold to actor Gene Autry who later sold it in 1985 to Fabri Development Corporation. In 1995, the station was sold to CBS Corporation and made it a CBS owned-and-operated station. In 2014, the station later became an NBC affiliate and NBCUniversal also bought the station.
