KPCS-TV is an NBC-affiliated station serving Fort Stockton, Texas and all of Pecos County. It broadcasts on VHF channel 13.

History[]

KPCS-TV Channel 13 was at first an independent station, airing movies from Universal, Paramount and MGM as well as local news, sports and weather. When it ranked close first to rival CBS affiliate KFST-TV (channel 5), it decided to affiliate with the NBC Television Network by the fall of that year. It was owned by the City Council of Fort Stockton until it was sold to Benedek Broadcasting in 1989.

When Benedek filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, it chose to sell KPCS to current owner Stephan Marks, operating through its licensee, Pecos County Broadcasters, Inc.
