KFBM is a FOX affiliate serving the Battle Mountain, Nevada, region, and is licensed to Battle Mountain, Nevada. Broadcasting on channel 2, KFBM is owned and operated by Young Broadcasting, and is a part of a duopoly in the market (Young also owns and operates NBC-affiliate KCYE). From the time the station signed on in 1978 until 1986, KFBM was an independent with the call letters KNS. In 1986, KNS became an affiliate of the FOX Broadcasting Network, where they remain to this day. In 1994, KNS changed their call letters to KFBM. KFBM also operates two subchannels: 2.2 (for Country Music Network), and 2.3 (for Z Channel).
