KUNO-DT (digital channel 55, virtual channel 54) is the Univision O&O station serving the city of Los Santos, SA.

History

The station first signed on the air on September 30, 1962 as KLSH; at its launch, the station served as one of the founding owned-and-operated stations of the Spanish International Network (the forerunner to Univision, which the network was renamed to in 1986). The callsign was changed to KUNO in 1993 in celebration as Los Santos' most watched spanish-speaking station.

Newscast

KUNO's newscasts, branded as Noticias 54, is the top-rated newscast among Spanish-speaking viewers in Southern San Andreas and often draws more viewers than any of the English language newscasts (although that has changed recently as Telemundo O&O KTML, channel 39, has improved the quality of their newscasts). By 2005, Noticias 54 led the ratings in the 18-34 and 18-49 demographic at 6 p.m. for the last twelve years, a remarkable feat for any television station. Part of the reason for this is that the Latino population in Southern San Andreas is younger than the non-Latino population.

In June 2015 the station announced they were reformatting their morning news from "Primera Edicion" to "A Primera Hora" their news team stayed the same there positions were renamed for the new show. Alexandra Cabbeloros,Annabelle Rodriuez,Gabrella Tessler Bayona. While Ajelandro Nunez had news. Before the rebrand Gabrella and Ajelandro were anchors, (Gabrella also had weather and traffic duties). With the rebrand Gabrella,Annabelle,Alexradria will be the morning show host, with Ajelandro anchoring the news segment. Gabriella will continue to do weather, And Annabelle Rodriguez will do traffic and tech segments. Along with Ericka Gonzalez reports on location. The show remained In the same timeslot 5 to 7am. The show is to target the younger audience and tech-savy and lifestyle.
