History[]

WCJK was launched on June 10, 1981, as an independent. Owned by Phillips Communications, WCJK ran a general independent schedule of children's programming in the morning, followed by off-network syndication in the afternoon, followed by movies throughout the night. WCJK also aired The 700 Club. In 1986, Fox Broadcasting was looking for affiliates for newly formed Fox Network, and WCJK became a Fox affiliate. In 1990, WCJK launched their own newscast. In 1994, Phillips Communications sold the station to Access Broadcasting. Access began upgrading the station and by 2006, WCJW began producing programming in HD. In 2015, WCJW was sold to Dorado Broadcasting.
