WHZZ is a CW affiliate serving Lansing, Michigan, and it's surrounding areas. Broadcasting on channel 57, WHZZ is owned and operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group. From the time the station signed on in 1990 until 1995, WHZZ was an independent. In 1995, WHZZ became one of the charter affiliates of UPN, which lasted from 1995 until they left in 2006 to join MyNetworkTV. When WACT left the CW in 2010, WHZZ became Lansing's new CW affiliate. In addition, WHZZ also operates three subchannels: 57.2 (for UPN Retro), 57.3 (for Nick Rewind), and 57.4 (for Soapnet). Following the merger of Oakhurst Broadcasting, Higgins Broadcasting, and Island Television into Adelphia Communications and Adelphia absorbing the remaining stations, Adelphia decided to shift focus on the stations that are in the top 50 DMA market. The remaining stations spun off to their own ownership group named Young Broadcasting, taking it's name from the former company before they merged in Media General. It was sold to Kenny Broadcasting by Young Broadcasting on March 28, 2017. On April 24, 2017, Kenny sold WHZZ to Sinclair Broadcast Group.
