WISV (channel 44) is a Horizon-affiliated television station licensed to Burlington, Vermont and also serving Plattsburgh, New York. It is owned by Flower Television.
History[]
The station was owned by Berfield/Willis Broadcast Corporation until September 17, 2016 when BWBC traded the station to Adelphia Communications for WACW in Atlanta. WISV also had secondary affiliation with BIG Network, GBN, DBC, and Acme TV. After purchase, Adelphia announced that they would be dropping all the secondary affiliates and will be an independent.
On September 4, 2023, Adelphia announced they're selling the station to Flower Television for them to convert to an affiliate of The Pride Network, but Flower kept the station an independent due to the fact that it still has a news department, not wanting to shut it down. On September 6, Flower announced that the station would affiliate with Horizon Television, as part of an affiliation deal plus station sales. The station joined on Sunday, September 10. Alongside that, the station announced a complete renovation of the studios as part of the rebrand.
